Solitary understory palm. Stem green glabrous and bamboo-like, 204 cm tall, dbh. 1.5 cm, with short stilt roots at the base. 3 leaves with sigmoid pinnae. 3 unusually large infrafoliar inflorescences and infructescences, oldest infructescence orange-coloured with mature globular fruits. Vernacular name: Molimillo (spanish). The lower part of the stem with stilt roots still attached is used as a whisk. Informants: Cesr Tapa and family.
