Caespitose palm with 6 stems. Stem 270 cm tall, DBH: 3 cm. With 9 leaves attached to the stem over a distance of 1 m., leaf-sheath 64 cm, petiole 100 cm, rachis 152 cm, pinnae in one plane and arranged in very distinct groups (1, 3, 7, 5 on one side, 3, 3, 6, 3 on the other). Sterile. Vernacular name: Urpi chunda (Quichua).
