Morphology:
Stem 0.5-2.5 m tall and 1.5-2.5 cm in diameter. Leaf blade 0.5-1 m long, with 2-6 pinnae on each side, these 40-50 cm long and 7-10 cm wide. Inflorescences branched 2 times, usually with a persistent, papery peduncular bract that is longer than the prophyll.
