Caespitose palm with 3 stems, to 3 m tall. Collected stem180 cm long, diam 2 cm. Leaves 6, distributed over 77 cm sheath 38 cm long; petiole 40.5 cm long; rachis 68 cm long; pinnae 6-7 per side, in groups of 2 – 3- 1 / 1- 2 -2 -1(base to apex), middle pinnae 58 x 4.5 cm, apical pinna 60 x16.5 cm. Inflorescence 1 per stem, interfoliar. According to Ernesto Tseremp (Shuar) the stem is used for making spear when nothing else is found. Palm hart edible. NV (shuar) Kamancha.
